GREGoR Banner Authors

The GREGoR Consortium banner author "Genomics Research to Elucidate the Genetics of Rare Diseases (GREGoR) Consortium" is used to acknowledge GREGoR core members who contribute to the overall conduct of GREGoR but do not otherwise meet criteria for byline authorship for a given manuscript. The Consortium banner author should be included on any publication that makes use of cross-Consortium data and/or other contributions (see “Authorship” in the GREGoR Consortium Publications Policy).

GREGoR Principal Investigators (for Research Centers and the DCC) and Program Directors (for NIH) determine who of the core members affiliated with their group should be on the banner author list and communicate that list (along with any updates or changes) to the DCC.

When submitting a GREGoR manuscript to a journal, authors may need to follow additional steps for the Consortium banner authors to be indexed in a repository such as PubMed. Some journals (e.g., The American Journal of Human Genetics (AJHG), Genetics in Medicine (GIM)) may require that a separate list be included at the end of the manuscript file containing the name of each Consortium banner author, in addition to including the name of the Consortium in the author byline. We recommend checking with the journal to which you plan to submit a manuscript for specific instructions. See also Authorship in MEDLINE.

External tools such as the NCI Author Arranger can be used to help convert the banner author list into journal-specified formats.
